SUNSQUAD: SPRING + SUMMER 2023

TARGET

As the lead textile designer for this multi-year partnership between Justina Blakeney of the Jungalow and Target’s Opalhouse brand, I had the privilege of collaborating closely with Justina and her team. Together, we digitally translated her artwork and textile designs into production-ready art, a testament to our collective efforts and shared vision.

Working with a cross-functional team of 15 internal designers, we ensured the artwork was suitable for various fabrics, material applications, and product types. From bedding to bath, decor to kitchen, and even wallpaper, our attention to detail and organization resulted in an impeccable execution of the printed and woven textiles for the assortment.

STRATEGY + CONCEPT + ARTWORK

Inspired by simple times and happy days, we slow down, enjoy life, health, friends and family. Whether that is in the mountains, islands, camping trails, pool, backyards or inside the home. Sun Squad is here to help with your summer entertaining. Encouraging people to get outside and stay active during the summer months. Reusability, recycled materials, botanical dyes, bold color blocking and mood boosting retro colors brings this concept to life and encourage joy.

THE FINAL PRODUCT

Finally, you can showcase where all the insights and work brought you: show off the product in its final form and share any successes or accolades that the finished product received. Did the collaboration perform exceptionally well in store sales? Did any of the products receive social media attention? Basically this is a place to show off the fruits of your labor and brag about the results!

Add or delete image placeholders as you see fit, but I would recommend keeping the 4x1 squares and one big hero image below at the very least.

**NOTE: Some of these images are placeholders that I grabbed from Justina’s blog to illustrate the visual storytelling – not sure if they are your work and even if they are, it probably makes sense to replace them with images that you know you have access to. If you leave them, I think maybe crediting Justina at the bottom makes sense.
