CONCEPT + AREAS OF FOCUS

S/S + F/W 2026

Target’s Bullseye’s Playground—formerly known as the Dollar Spot—is a front-of-store merchandising area that features seasonal, themed, and family-oriented products priced at $1, $3, and $5. Launched in 2015, it is designed to drive impulse purchases and increase basket size through the frequent rotation of low-cost, limited-time merchandise. Positioned near store entrances, it plays a strategic role in Target’s retail experience by encouraging product discovery and reinforcing customer engagement at the outset of the shopping journey.
The Concept and Area of Focus pages were developed to communicate the seasonal direction for each program, including key items, color palettes, and material selections. The intent was to provide guidance that strikes a balance between creative specificity and strategic flexibility, enabling vendor partners to collaborate effectively with the design team. In partnership with merchandising and sourcing, and working across a matrix of 10–15 vendors, I played a key role in aligning product development with both design intent and cost objectives.
